Sips, Spices & Stories in Every Cup
Welcome to Heyma Yemeni Coffee & Brunch

Tucked into the lively University Avenue in Berkeley, Heyma Yemeni Coffee is more than just a café—it’s a gathering place, a late-night refuge, and a celebration of Yemeni coffee culture.
Every brew here tells a story. Take the Heyma Latte: richly spiced with cardamom and cinnamon, every sip carries warmth, tradition, and the smoky whispers of old-world Yemen. Or try the Aden Tea or Mufawaar, where exotic spices like cardamom, ginger, and cream dance together in homage to centuries-old Yemeni tea rituals.
Heyma isn’t just a place to grab coffee. It’s where students cram for finals late into the night, where families gather over sweets, and where conversations linger as long as the flavor in the cup. The walls reflect cultural pride; the décor blends comfort with elegance; the vibe is warm and welcoming without pretension.
A Yemeni Coffee Shop Keeps the Masses Well Caffeinated Until Midnight

We stumbled on this fantastic coffee shop while we were in town for our son's law school graduation. Everyone was so friendly and the pastries were divine. The best thing , however, was the coffee! We of course bought some to take home with us, and the man working there specifically picked out the freshest roast they had for us. We have tried coffee all over the world, but nothing compares. W are so in love with this coffee, we pay one of our son's friends to buy it there and ship it to us in Texas. I don't know what we'll do when she graduates!

Aroma of the coffee hit you soon as you walk in. Greeted by the owner. He made me a kunafa Chocolate latte. It was on the sweeter side but still tasted really good. Nice presentation 👏
Place, owner and employees felt very welcoming as you would expect from an authentic yemeni coffee. Cant wait for their new location to be open.
Best of luck

This place deserves way more hype, because it is amazing. I ran here, and not only was the sight of fun, unique flavour creations of coffee and matcha enough to make me drool, the Arabian ambience and music transported me to my family’s in Jordan, what with the familiar cushions and elaborate wall art.
I ordered their iced pistachio latte, and genuinely my jaw dropped when I took the first sip, because I wasn’t expecting it to taste that good. They use a very high quality spread that tastes like the nut itself, and adds a sweetness to the drink that does not overpower the coffee at all. It’s perfect. I noticed a lot of coffee use pistachio syrup for a pistachio flavoured drink, which I personally despise. But Heyma use a spread that really enhances the coffee. Going here is an experience, transporting you to a different place and culture. As a Middle Eastern girl myself, it is officially one of my favourite coffee shops in the world.
